Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for March, with the

Portugal international having a hand in all four of United’s goals during their unbeaten run last month.

He opened the scoring with a superb free-kick in a 1-1 draw at Arsenal before providing two assists and scoring in a 3-0 rout of Leicester.

has also won the Goal of the Month award three times, taking his tally to eight since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.

Bruno has since continued his form with a Man of the Match-winning display in Sunday’s Manchester derby, and will now be hoping to help the Reds record a positive result in Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg away to Lyon.

The Portugal international has been involved in 41 Europa League goals, the most of any player in the competition’s history (24 goals, 17 assists).

He also has the most goals and assists in the knockout stages (16 goals, 11 assists), while his 11 assists are the joint most by a player in the knockouts, along with his former United team-mate Juan Mata.

The win puts him level with Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie for the third-most in Premier League history, and two behind Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah, who have all won the award seven times.
